Twenty Third Annual Robert Burns Supper
26 February, 2022 6:00 PM
UPDATE January 31, 2022: Omicron is waning, and we believe we can safely pull off this year's Robert Burns Supper. It has been rescheduled for February 26. REMEMBER: PROOF OF VACCINATION IS REQUIRED FOR ENTRY! If you purchased tickets for the original date, you can use those tickets. If you haven't purchased, they are now available on a first-come first-served basis. We reserve the right to postpone again should circumstances require us to so so. Let's think positive!
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE SURGE OF THE OMICRON VARIANT, AND OUT OF UNDUE CAUTION, WE ARE POSTPONING THIS EVENT. HOLD ON TO YOUR TICKETS OR EMAIL US FOR A REFUND. IF YOU BOUGHT A TICKET, AN EMAIL WAS SENT TO YOU. CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER IF YOU CAN'T FIND THE MESSAGE. WE'LL UPDATE WHEN WE KNOW MORE.
Last year, due to thepandemic, we hosted our Supper via Zoom. While it was eventful, it's not the same thing as being together. We're back! a caveat, though.
WE WILL REQUIRE PROOF OF VACCINATION AT THE DOOR. PLEASE HAVE YOUR VAX CARD READY BEFORE YOU ENTER THE ROOM. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUCED IF YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR CARD WITH YOU.
We celebrate this complex man for the twenty third time on Saturday, January 15, 2022. You will be treated to some fine libations, you'll enjoy a four course Scottish-inspired dinner and you may even learn a little something as we recall tender, romantic, spirited and even baudy poetry. A bagpiper will also be on hand to make for a memorable evening. We ask that you get to the bar no later than about 5:45 PM and wait for the Piping of the Haggis. We'll come out of the kitchen with bagpipes at full volume, haggis on a silver platter, and preceded by crossed bottles of single malt scotch (that you'll be drinking later.) You'll follow the parade into our private Robert Burns Tap Room, where the room has been transformed for the evening. As you take your seats, the haggis will make its way to the podium where we'll recite An Address the Haggis, written by Rabbie, of course. The night has just begun...
The evening's menu:
- First Course: Haggis with tatties and neeps
- Second Course: Mixed greens salad with Scotch egg and viniagrette
- Third Course: This is a special course to welcome back our live Burns Supper. A trio of sausages with sauces, served with sauteed cabbage with onions and apples.
-- Venison, Pork & Cherry Sausage with Cherry Horseradish Sauce
--Wild Boar Sausage with Grainy Mustard Sauce
--Rabbit & Ginger Sausage with Japanese-style Ginger Sauce - Fourth Course: Mixed Berry Cobbler
The Single Malt Scotch Whiskys:
- Speyside: Tomintoul 10 Year
- Highland: Creag Isle 12 Year
- Islay: Shieldag 14 Year
Tapping of Robert Burns Scottish Export Ale in the Firkin:
- You'll be the first to taste our nineteenth edition of this fine ale right from the firkin
- We'll tap it as the dinner course is being served
- We'll drink it until the entire firkin is gone!
More poetry, more fun, more blue... if you've been to this event before, you're bored reading this because there is no way to describe how fun the evening is. If you've never atteneded before, you'll have a great time. You're also likely to be called a Rabbie Virgin by the others. You can purchase your tickets at the brewpub for $65, including gratuity. Ohio sales tax will be added to your purchase price, or you can purchase on line for just $67 plus sales tax. Your tickets will be waiting for you to pick up the next time you're in. See you there, and one more thing...Johnnie lad, cock up your beaver!
Cheers!
