A Sumerian-Egyptian Beer Dinner

The Agenda:

  • Happy Hour 6:00 PM
    You will be able to mingle with the participants as you enjoy a pint of Great Lakes Brewing Conway's Irish Ale
  • Introduction 6:30 PM
    Opening remarks by Lenny Kolada and Pat Conway
  • Historical Presentation 6:50 PM
    Dinner courses will begin during these presentations
    Tate Paulette will discuss beer and brewing in Mesopotamia
    Linda Pansing from the Ohio Historical Society will discuss Amunet ("The Hidden One")
    Brewdood will discuss the development of KA Amunet, our ancient Egyptian inspired beer
    Michael Williams will discuss the process of making Enkibru and Gilgamash, their ancient Sumerian inspired beers
  • Brewing Presentation 8:00 PM
    Michael Williams will show vessels and describe the brewing process
  • Beer Tasting 8:20 PM
    Angelo Signorino, Jr will guide you through a tasting of KA Amunet
    Michael Williams will guide you through three tastings:
    --Enkibru, served directly from the ceramic vessels
    --Enkibru with date syrup infusion
    --Gilgamash, the same recipe brewed on modern equipment
  • Q&A/Closing Remarks/Reed Tasting 8:45 PM
    You will be directed to the adjacent room where you all will be invited to enjoy Enkibru communally from a pot, using reeds
